BARRY’S BOOTCAMP MIAMI

Had to try out Barry’s Bootcamp while in Miami to see what the hype was all about anddddd it definitely lived up to its expectations! The dimmed lighting and loud music really set the tone for the workout – Kellie the instructor was also very energetic and motivating! It was an interval training (HIIT) based class, rotating back and forth from the treadmill to the floor. The focus of the class for the day was abs and legs – we used weights and bands and pretty everything was on fire by the end. We did lots of different variations of squats, lunges and deadlifts, doing double sets of all exercises. There wasn’t as much as as focus on core but we still did some work at the end.
As I mentioned there was a rotation back and forth from weights to treadmill but I opted out on the treadmill and did double floor which is an option too. The work on the treadmill was all interval sprinting which is the BEST for revving up the metabolism and burning calories throughout the rest of the day. The studio space was clean however the change room area is a bit small so plan ahead if you know you’re going to a busy class. They also make in house smoothies with BOMB flavour (I got peanut butter and jelly) which I always love having after a killer workout. Needless to say it was an awesome lower body workout (I got my ass kicked, literally!) definitely worth trying and I can’t wait to go back! This location is not on ClassPass.
