If you follow my Instagram story you know by know that Studio Lagree is hands down one of my favourite classes that I do on a weekly basis. I was introduced to reformer pilates almost a year and a half ago and I’m so happy I tried it because I’ve fallen in love! It really helps with overall strengthening and toning and is an awesome accent to my current workout regime. Studio Lagree is pretty incomparable to any other reformer class in the city, the intensity is high and they hold that standard in every class.
There is a combination of core, endurance, balance, strength and flexibility in every move. Every class is 50 mins and depending on the instructor they may have a specific focus for the class but generally speaking it is a full body workout. There is no impact and the workout targets slow twitch muscle fibres. The lagree method of resistance and counter resistance placing muscles under constant tension leads to muscle failure with little to no rest between exercises. Don’t feel discouraged if you’re just starting out, it is a tough workout but you eventually get the hang of it! Definitely recommended to all whether you have tried reformer pilates or not!
The facilities at Studio Lagree are shared with Studio KO (boxing) and can get crammed at times if you are there during busy hours. There is a change room with lockers, showers, and feminine products for freshening up after. Overall they keep the studio space clean and I feel comfortable getting ready there after a workout.
