I came across the ATC on Instagram and instantly knew I had to go check it out! It is located in Mississauga with over 10,000 square ft. of equipped space training high-level athletes ranging from youth all the way up to pro levels. They offer one-on-one personal training along with group classes varying from strength to spin classes.

I grew up playing sports (hockey and baseball) and I’ve always had a love for athletic style training hence why I LOVED the studio Tone House in NYC (if you are ever there you need to check it out). The combination of conditioning and strength is something I thrive at and prefer it over training both areas separately. Endurance is my strength!

I had the pleasure of doing a workout @pierreseliteperformance who is insanely talented at what he does. When I first saw his account on Instagram my first instinct was to message him and connect for a workout. I loved his style of training and knew he would definitely challenge me… and was I ever right! We started with a 20-30 minute warm up which is definitely normal when training like an athlete. That is one area that I do not like about most group fitness classes/workouts – warm ups are minimal and often time skipped over completely. When training it is crucial to warm up all areas of the body, focussing on mobility and activating the muscles being used. This is huge for injury prevention which is obviously a main focus at ATC.

From there we went into different compound movements, utilizing the entire body. Check out my Instagram post on the ATC to see full videos of a few different exercises. Almost every movement we did was new to me but I was able to keep up and catch on quickly. Pierre is really an amazing coach, constantly giving feedback and positive reinforcement and it is obvious why he is is so successful at what he does – truly an inspiration as a trainer!
